I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Holiday season! Our time was spent with family, eating way too much food and having lots of laughs.
My hubby was amazing as usual, gifting me with a new sewing machine! I was just recently talking about how I’d like to learn how to sew. Not to recreate our wardrobe or anything, but to have that skill to make some basic items, eventually moving up into more complicated pieces. As a former art school graduate, it's great to have a creative outlet and I've always loved hands-on work.
Daisy was also very spoiled with toys and treats. My mom is amazing and has a stocking just for her. She always knows what to get, and Daisy was one happy little pooch!!
Now, 2014 is here, and I have to admit I am pumped! 2013 was a busy year... hubby and I became hubby and wife, and while it was overall a good year it felt exhausting in some ways. In the midst of wedding planning, naturally a good chunk of money was spent. Luckily we have slowly balanced that out now, but it was difficult and meant some sacrifices.
It was also the year we decided whole heartedly to look for a new home in the country, which is ultimately why I am so pumped for 2014. We looked at two houses this past weekend, but they weren't anything we wanted to put a bid on. We're glad we looked, but both houses had major foundation issues. I told the realtor that it seems hard right now because of so few listings... but she told us that in a couple weeks they will sprout all over the place, which makes me feel better. I am just too anxious to find our home!
In the meantime, we spent some time out at my in-law's farm in the very cold weather this past week. I love seeing the cows, and was happy to see the new baby calf. She's only a few days old and is so gorgeous. I got to see her the day she was born and pet her while she was curled up in the hay. Daisy isn't too interested in them, and only reacts when they 'charge' at her (a.k.a. look at and approach her), making her bark a little.
After a busy couple of weeks, it's nice to be back into a routine again. I think Daisy agrees!
