One Wall At A Time

That's been our motto lately. It's been pretty non stop with reno work at the house, and it's not about to stop anytime soon either. But, things are getting done... one wall at a time...! We originally thought we'd take it one room at a time, but that's not how things have worked out.

It's been very exciting replacing hard board with proper drywall. We still have a ways to go to replace everything, but even the few walls done make such a difference.

Hubby changed where the entrance to the master bedroom is, which makes so much more sense for the space.

New entrance on the left - old entrance on the right.

We put sound proof insulation between this wall and the hallway to keep hallway noises out. Note, the door on the right to our new closet.

A solid wall of drywall! Now our bed can face the window instead of having it above our headboard. New entrance on the left, and door to new closet on the right.

He also switched the master bath with the master closet, which again, creates a much better layout of the room, not to mention a bigger bathroom and closet as well. The closet is drywalled, but not finished, and we still have to put in a clothes bar and shelving... the new bathroom is totally functional, and just needs primed and painted before I can decorate.

New bathroom space! Drywall is on, and just needs finished. Everything in here works...!

There were two closets in the master bedroom, and one was simply full of shelves like a linen closet. Hubby swapped that closet for a front entrance closet... strange there wasn't one in the first place. We're going to divide the new closet in half, with one half for jackets and boots, and the other half with shelves for cleaning supplies, and a space for the vacuum and brooms etc.

Hubby breaking through! Creating new front entrance closet out of old bedroom closet. At one point this was the exterior wall (see where the window was), so lots of wood to take off.

Finished switch of the closet, and another wall with drywall!

All of these changes make it that much more ours, and we are loving it. We'll have all the time in the world to decorate to our hearts content, but knowing that the work is done properly without cutting corners means that we won't have to rip it apart again. That's a good feeling!
