Connected Again

We were without internet for a week while switching providers. Luckily, we've been busy enough not to notice too much, but we're very happy to have it back. Here are a couple updates:

Chicken coop

We decided that instead of moving the future coop to the other side of the tree line, we're going to leave it where it is. It already sits on a concrete pad, and we realized that the area behind it is nicely shaded and large in space, so it'll make a great run. At least we can start working on it soon.

We'll have to add a door on the right side near the access path, along with other windows and doors. Lots of ground to enclose for a run here. The shed measures 16' x 11', and the run would be 16' x 13'. Plenty of room for four hens.

Here's the other side with the door that currently exists. We want to put a door on the left side near the path. Not sure if we'll seal this existing door off or just update it with a better door.

House stuff

Hubby moved the washing machine and dryer back in the basement. Did I ever mention they were hooked up in the spare bedroom? Yup, they were! Now there's way more space in the bedroom and I can't wait to decorate it - which probably won't be for a while, but still. He also installed a new toilet in the main bathroom… love it! Nothing like a brand new toilet, I tell ya! He’s going to put in a bathroom fan in there too. I’ll have before and after’s when we’re done.

Daisy

We’re taking Daisy to see her vet tomorrow evening, because I’ve noticed that she’s shedding way more than normal. Clumps of her undercoat have been coming out, which has never happened. I thought maybe it was because of the summer weather, but yesterday I noticed that her whole chest is completely bald, and the hair on her legs is very thin. I don’t know if it’s stress, allergies, or another condition, but I want to make sure she’s seen asap. She’s been normal otherwise… great energy level, no itching, eating really well, good poops… just this hair thing suddenly. Please send good thoughts her way!
